Key Takeaways

Palladium boots fit true to US sneaker size. You should get whatever is the most common size shoe you have in your closet. So if you have Nike or Reebok shoes in 10.5, your best fit for Palladium boots is a 10.5.

Nothing’s worse than trying on a new pair of boots only to find they’re a little too tight (or too loose).

I’ve done it several times myself, so I know the pain. And we’re going to make sure you don’t make that mistake with those Palladium boots you’ve been eyeing.

In this Palladium boots sizing guide, I’ll discuss how Palladium’s fit, including how their popular Pampa compares to other sneakers like Converse.

I also created a size chart so you can measure your foot and match up the correct size you’ll need.

Palladium Boots Sizing

Palladium boots run true to size. Unlike most boots, Palladium’s are aligned with US sneaker and dress shoe sizing standards.

Without knowing what’s in your closet, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that you should get your new Palladium boots in whatever size is most common in your closet.

If you most often wear a size 10 in your sneakers and dress shoes (including Nike, Reebok, Allen Edmonds, etc.), then your best bet is a size 10 for the Palladium.

Most heritage boot brands like Red Wing, Wolverine, and Timberland run large, so for those brands you’d need at least a half-size smaller. But Palladium is closer to a sneaker than it is a boot.

Palladium Pampa vs Converse Sizing

When comparing the size of the Palladium Pampa to Converse, it’s important to note which Converse. When most people say “Converse,” they’re referring to the classic Chuck Taylor’s.

The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star runs a half size large, so it would fit larger than the Palladium Pampa.

If you already own a pair of Chuck Taylor’s that fit well, then you should get a half size larger for your new Palladium shoes. For example, if you’re a size 10 in Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars, then you’d most likely fit a 9.5 Palladium Pampa.

However, Converse doesn’t have the same fit across their entire line of sneakers. They’ve since updated their fit with their more recent offerings, which can lead to some confusion.

But, in general, the Palladium Pampa fits a half-size smaller than Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars.

Palladium Boot Size Chart

As a French brand, Palladium often advertises their sizes in EU standards, but if you’re shopping through the US-based site, they make it quite easy to find the correct corresponding size.

Still, I’ve made a size chart so you can quickly convert between US, UK, and EU sizes. You can also use the chart to compare your foot length (in CM) against the differing sizes.

Just note that your foot length isn’t all there is to getting the correct size. Your arch and foot structure also play a major role in how your boots should fit. I still recommend referencing your other sneakers and dress shoes to get the correct fit for your Palladium boots, but you can always use the CM measurement as a reference.

Measure your foot in CM and compare it to my size chart or just compare similar brands you already have in your closet.

One final note if you’re thinking about measuring your foot in CM and determining your size off of that: your size will never be smaller. But it could be larger.

That’s why I recommend choosing your Palladium size off of your other shoes first.

Conclusion

It really is that easy to get the perfect size for your new Palladium’s.

Whatever your most common sneaker size is: that’s the size you want for your new Palladium’s.

If you own a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars and you’re wondering how those compare in sizing to Palladium boots: Converse run a half-size large. So you should order your Palladium boots a half size larger than you would Converse All Stars.

If you’re only seeing EU sizing, check out our Palladium size chart to convert the EU sizing to US or UK.

After reading this guide, you’ve got all the information to shop confidently. When you open that new box and try your Palladium’s on for the first time, they’re going to fit perfectly. I’d bet on it.

FAQs

Do Palladium boots run true to size?

Yes, Palladium boots run true to size. They’re similarly sized to most common sneaker brands like Nike and Reebok.

Are Palladium boots good for winter?

No, because Palladium boots are made of canvas, they are easily soaked and can be extremely cold if you’re caught out in the weather. They’re great for summer because of their lightweight construction, but for winter, you’re much better off with a pair of leather boots.

What are Palladium boots for?

Palladium boots are lightweight and comfortable: they’re excellent for style and walking long distances through a city. They’re great in hot weather, too. You can try minor hikes with them, though a leather boot will be more durable and a better choice if you hike often.

Where do Palladium boots come from?

Palladium originally started as a rubber factory making aviation tires in France, and they created their first boot (Pallabrousse) in 1947 for the French Foreign Legion.
