Staff Writer (2024)
Current status: Open
As a staff writer, you’ll be in charge of writing review articles and guides regularly. You must be deeply familiar with the most popular boot brands today. If you’ve never heard of Horween leather, or don’t know the difference between stitchdown and a goodyear welt, you’re not a good fit.
However, if you regularly keep up with brands like Grant Stone, Truman, Nicks, Red Wing, and Thursday, or if you have subject-matter expertise in leather or shoe construction, then we’d love to talk to you.
You must have strong written communication skills. Bonus consideration if you have experience with photography and would be able to shoot images for your reviews and guides, as BootSpy only reviews boots we’ve actually tried and can say something unique about.
Send some examples of your previous writing to william@bootspy.com and share how you think you can contribute to the team.
Videographer (2024)
Current status: Open
Must be based near Winston Salem, North Carolina.
We’re looking for a videographer to help grow the BootSpy YouTube channel. This role would include weekly shoots filming with William.
You must have strong video skills, including with lighting and crafting visually interesting sequences. We’ll also give special consideration if you have any YouTube experience.
We currently have an editor on staff, so this role would be primarily shooting the video and communicating ideas with our editor.
If this sounds like you, send some examples of your previous videography to william@bootspy.com
